What Are You Thankful For This Thanksgiving Season?

As this year comes to a close, I can’t help but pause and reflect on the journey of these past eleven months. It hasn’t been a perfect year there have been ups and downs, moments of joy and moments that required hard decisions, tears, and growth. But through it all, one thing remains clear: God has been faithful. This Thanksgiving season, my heart is overflowing with gratitude not because everything was easy, but because God was present in everything.

Learning, Growing, and Becoming

This year stretched me in ways I didn’t expect. I had to make decisions that weren’t easy, choices that demanded courage, wisdom, and stillness before God. Scripture reminds us:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”  Proverbs 3:5–6

As I learned to acknowledge God in every step, something happened. I matured. I grew. I learned how to silence the voices that were too loud, the voices that tried to override, overrule, and drown out who God called me to be.

  •  I learned how to set boundaries.

  • I learned how to be okay.

  • I learned how to say no without guilt.

  •  I learned how to be intentional about my peace, my purpose, and my healing.

And through it all, God lovingly guided me.

Corrected, Covered, and Kept

This year, I discovered that God not only corrects but He corrects with love.

“For whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights.” Proverbs 3:12

He silenced me when I needed to be still. He redirected me when I was headed the wrong way. He helped me, pushed me, encouraged me, and reminded me that His plans are still good. I’m overwhelmingly thankful that God did not give up on me even when people did. I’m thankful that He loved me in spite of my flaws, fears, and failures.

“The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.” Psalm 145:8

  • He kept me.

  • He kept my children.

  • He kept my family.

  • And most of all—He kept my mind.

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3

What Are You Thankful For?

As you look back over these past eleven months, pause and ask yourself:

What are you thankful for? What has God brought you through? What did you survive that you didn’t think you would? What did you learn? How did you grow? Sometimes gratitude looks like big victories, and sometimes it looks like simply making it through the day. But every breath is a reminder that God is not done with you yet.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.”  Psalm 107:1

This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful for God’s love, His patience, His protection, and His presence. I’m thankful that He held me together when life tried to pull me apart. I’m thankful for grace that met me every morning and mercy that carried me through every night.

And now, as we prepare to step into a new year with new challenges, new blessings, and new growth I’m walking forward with gratitude, peace, and expectation.

What about you? What are you thankful for this season?
