September: The Month to Birth What God Has Placed Within You

“For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.” Isaiah 66:8

September is the ninth month of the year, and the number nine can beautifully remind us of a season of completion, preparation, and birth. In the natural, a woman carries a child for approximately nine months before bringing forth what has been developing within her. There is a process that cannot be rushed. There is preparation, growth, stretching, discomfort, expectation, and eventually, delivery.

Could it be that you are standing in a spiritual birthing season? There is something God has placed inside of you that is ready to come forth.

Maybe it is a ministry.

Maybe it is a business.

Maybe it is a book you have been carrying for years.

Maybe it is a new level of your prayer life.

Maybe it is a dream, vision, assignment, or idea that God gave you.

Maybe it is something you have not even told anyone about because it is still developing inside of you. Whatever the Father has placed within you, the question is:

What Are You About to Birth?

There are things God will place in you that cannot remain in you forever. A pregnant woman cannot carry a child indefinitely. Eventually, what has been growing in secret must be brought into the world. Likewise, there are things that God has been developing in you through prayer, fasting, trials, waiting, disappointment, preparation, and obedience. You may have wondered: “God, why am I going through this?” But perhaps some of what you have experienced was not punishment, it was preparation for delivery.

The pressure did not come to destroy you.
The stretching did not come to kill you.
The waiting did not mean God had forgotten you.
The process was producing something.

There Is a Time to Carry and a Time to Deliver

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

Says:

There is a season to conceive.

There is a season to carry.

There is a season to develop.

And there is a season to birth.

One of the greatest mistakes we can make is trying to give birth to something before it has reached its proper season. A premature birth can happen spiritually when we move ahead of God’s timing because we become impatient, afraid, discouraged, or influenced by what we see other people doing. You cannot compare your pregnancy to someone else’s. You cannot compare your process to someone else’s. You cannot look at another person’s ministry, business, marriage, calling, platform, or success and assume that because they have already delivered, you should be delivering too. Your baby has its own gestation period. What God is forming in you may require a different amount of time. So don’t give birth prematurely. But at the same time, don’t keep carrying what God is telling you to deliver. There comes a moment when faith has to move from carrying to birthing.

What Has the Father Given You to Deliver?

Take a moment and ask yourself: What has the Father placed inside of me? What keeps coming back to your heart? What vision will not leave you alone? What has God repeatedly placed before you? What have you been praying about? What have you been preparing for? What burden has God placed in your spirit? What assignment keeps calling your name? Maybe God has given you a ministry.

Maybe He has given you a business. Maybe He has given you a book. Maybe He has given you a prayer ministry. Maybe He has given you an idea that will help other people. Maybe He has called you to teach. Maybe He has called you to mentor. Maybe He has called you to intercede. Maybe He has called you to create.

Maybe He has called you to step into something completely different from what you have done before. What has God placed in you? And more importantly: Are you ready to deliver it?

Don’t Let Fear Abort What Faith Conceived

Sometimes the enemy cannot stop God from putting something in you, so he tries to convince you not to bring it forth.

Fear says: “You aren’t ready.”

God says: “Trust Me.”

Fear says: “What if you fail?”

Faith says: “What if God succeeds through you?”

Fear says: “Nobody will support you.”

Faith says: “God is your source.”

Fear says: “It’s too late.”

Faith says: “If God gave it to me, His timing is still working.”

Fear can cause us to abandon something God instructed us to carry. Disappointment can cause us to stop pushing. Criticism can cause us to hide. Delay can cause us to question whether God really spoke. But don’t allow what happened around you to determine what happens within you. You have carried this too long to allow fear to convince you to quit now.

What the Father Has Given You Will Not Die

There are things God has placed in you that have survived storms. They survived rejection. They survived disappointment. They survived closed doors. They survived seasons when you didn’t understand what God was doing. They survived the moments when you wanted to give up. And if God is the One who gave it to you, you can trust Him to sustain what He has ordained. That does not mean you will never face resistance. It does not mean everything will happen instantly. It does not mean there won’t be difficult days. But it means you can declare:

“What the Father has given me will not die in me.”

The vision will not die.
The assignment will not die.
The ministry will not die.
The prayer life will not die.
The purpose will not die.
The dream will not die.
The business will not die. "What God has ordained will come forth in His appointed time."

This Is Your Birthing Season

September does not mean that every person must suddenly launch something.

Rather, let September become a month of spiritual examination. Ask yourself: Am I in the season to birth? Have I been preparing? Have I been praying? Have I been obeying?

Have I been developing what God gave me? Have I been allowing fear to keep me from pushing? Have I been carrying something that God is telling me to release?

There is a difference between being pregnant with purpose and actually giving birth to purpose. At some point, preparation must become manifestation. Prayer must become obedience. Vision must become action. Faith must become movement. The thing you’ve been talking about must eventually become the thing you’re doing.

Push!

A woman in labor cannot remain comfortable forever. There comes a moment when she has to push. And spiritually, there are moments when we have to push through:

Push through fear.
Push through doubt.
Push through procrastination.
Push through disappointment.
Push through rejection.
Push through criticism.
Push through the temptation to quit.
Push through the pain of the process.

Your push may look like submitting the application. Writing the first chapter. Starting the business. Launching the ministry. Creating the prayer group. Going back to school. Making the phone call. Taking the class. Opening the account. Recording the message.

Writing the vision. Starting the channel. Getting back on your knees. Whatever God has told you to do, do it.

Birth It, But Don’t Kill It

There is a powerful balance in birthing. Don’t birth it prematurely. But also: Don’t allow it to die because you refuse to push. Some things require patience. Some things require preparation. Some things require courage. Some things require obedience. And some things require you to finally say:

“I have carried this long enough. It is time to bring it forth.”

This September, don’t just ask God for something new. Ask Him: “Father, what have You already placed inside of me that You are calling me to birth?”

Then listen.
Write it down.
Pray over it.
Prepare for it.
Protect it.
Nurture it.
And when the time comes
PUSH.

A Prayer for Your Birthing Season

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for everything You have placed inside of me. Thank You for every vision, every assignment, every dream, every ministry, every business idea, every gift, every calling, and every purpose that You have deposited within me. Father, show me what I am carrying. Give me discernment to know what is from You and wisdom to know how to bring it forth.

If I am not ready, prepare me.
If I am afraid, strengthen me.
If I am discouraged, encourage me.
If I have become weary, renew my strength.
If I have been procrastinating, awaken me.
If I have been trying to birth something prematurely, give me patience to wait for Your appointed time.

But Father, when the appointed time comes, give me the courage to push. I declare that what You have placed within me will not die.

The vision will not die.
The assignment will not die.
The purpose will not die.
The ministry will not die.
The business will not die.
The prayer life will not die.
The dream will not die.

What You have ordained for my life shall come forth according to Your will and Your timing. I refuse to abort my purpose because of fear. I refuse to abandon my assignment because of opposition. I refuse to allow disappointment to make me quit. Father, help me bring forth what You have placed within me. Let this be a season of manifestation, obedience, and spiritual birth. And when I give birth to what You have placed within me, help me nurture it, protect it, and steward it well. What You have given me to birth shall live. It shall not die.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

September Declaration:

This is my birthing season.
I will not birth prematurely, and I will not allow what God placed within me to die.
I will trust God’s timing, obey His instructions, push through resistance, and bring forth what the Father has placed inside of me.
What God has ordained for me shall live, grow, and fulfill its purpose.
I am ready to birth!
