Waiting can feel heavy.

When you’re single and desiring marriage, it’s easy to feel forgotten, overlooked, or even behind in life. Weddings come and go. Social media fills with engagement photos and anniversaries. Quietly, a question can begin to form in your heart: God, when will it be my turn?”

But in the middle of that waiting, there is a truth many believers forget—or simply need to be reminded of:

You are already spoken for.

Before any earthly relationship enters your life, your soul already belongs to Christ.

Scripture describes the relationship between Jesus and His people as a marriage. He is the Bridegroom, and the Church is His bride. That means your identity, your worth, and your love story did not begin the day you met a future spouse; it began the moment you gave your life

to Him.

You are not waiting to be chosen.

You have already been chosen.

The Beauty of Being Christ’s Bride

When we remember that we belong to Christ, our waiting takes on a new perspective.

Jesus loves with a perfect love. He does not abandon, grow distant, or lose interest. His commitment to you is unwavering. While human relationships can fail or disappoint, His covenant never breaks.

Being spiritually united with Christ means you are:

  • Fully known and fully loved

  • Never truly alone

  • Already part of the greatest love story ever written

Your season of singleness is not an empty space in your life. It is a time where your relationship with Christ can grow deeper, richer, and more intimate. Sometimes God allows a waiting season not as punishment, but as preparation.

Waiting Is Not Wasted

Culture often treats singleness like a problem that needs solving. But in God’s kingdom, singleness can be sacred.

  • Waiting teaches trust.

  • Waiting refines character.

  • Waiting deepens faith.

When your heart longs for a spouse, it can feel like nothing is happening. But behind the scenes, God is always working—shaping you, guiding you, and writing a story that you cannot yet see.

  • Your life is not on pause.

  • God is still moving.

Hold On to Hope

If you are praying for a spouse, keep praying. God hears every prayer and sees every tear. Your desire for companionship is not wrong; it’s a beautiful reflection of how we were created.

But while you wait, don’t forget who you belong to.

You are loved by the One who gave His life for you.

You are pursued by the One who never leaves.

You are cherished by the One who calls you, His bride.

And whether your future includes marriage or continued singleness, your greatest relationship is already secure.

  • So, hold on.

  • Hold on to faith.

  • Hold on to hope.

And most importantly, hold on to Christ the Bridegroom who has loved you from the very beginning. Pass this along to someone who’s waiting as well.
